In line with the efforts being undertaken by the Government of India and Government of Rajasthan for ensuring road safety, RIDCOR is celebrating “National Road Safety Week” from time to time at its various road stretches. In this initiative, the road users are being informed about the various roads signs and road safety measures, which can be adopted, for reducing the risk of a person using the road network being killed or seriously injured. Emphasis is being made to convince the roads users to adopt the road safety measures in their day to day lives as “Safety is not just a slogan, it’s a way of life” and their small initiative of adhering to the traffic rules and adopting road safety measures can prevent several accidents and save various untimely deaths.
The Company has reached out to over 19000 students in 75 schools along the highways with information on road safety, road etiquette and responsible driving. It has trained over 100 volunteers on road safety and basic first aid.
To ensure the visibility in vulnerable conditions the Company has initiated “reflector campaign” as part of Road Safety week. In this campaign, people were oriented and motivated to fix reflectors on their vehicles to ensure visibility. Further reflectors have also affixed on trees, obstructions, animals etc. to provide visibility to the riders in night. The District Administrations have also facilitated these campaigns at various places and hundreds of reflectors have been fixed/ distributed as part of the campaign.
